Tips for freestyle

Here are five basic tips for an efficient freestyle swimming technique:

1. Maintain a Streamlined Body Position

• Keep your head in a neutral position, looking down or slightly forward.

• Engage your core to keep your body straight and reduce drag in the water. Avoid letting your hips or legs sink.

2. Master the Breathing Technique

• Exhale fully underwater to make inhaling quick and efficient.

• Turn your head to the side, not lifting it, to breathe. This minimizes disruption to your body alignment.

3. Perfect Your Arm Stroke

• Enter the water with your fingertips first and extend your arm fully.

• Perform a high elbow catch, pulling the water with your forearm and hand, and push all the way past your hip.

4. Kick Efficiently

• Use a relaxed, steady flutter kick from your hips, not your knees.

• Keep your ankles loose and pointed to minimize resistance.

5. Focus on Rotation

• Rotate your body along your spine with each stroke to engage your core and increase reach.

• Avoid over-rotating; keep your movement balanced and smooth.

Practicing these tips consistently will help improve your speed, endurance, and efficiency in freestyle swimming.
